Creating Layers with Fiber Reactive-at 10 AM – 5 PM,Manitou Art Center

In this class students will play using different ways to apply thickened fiber reactive dye to different fabric samples. Students will use brushes, stamps, thermofax and monoprinting techniques to create pattern and texture. Students will walk away with a sample binder for future reference. This is a great continuation of the intro fiber reactive dye class Seeing Color. 2020 Manitou Springs Carnivale Parade - Rockey's Middle Earth-at 1 PM – 2 PM

Manitou Ave, Manitou Springs, CO. The 28th Annual Carnivale Parade.
The parade will stage at MEMORIAL PARK, 502 Manitou Ave. Be there no later than 12:30 to line up in the parade. Volunteers will be present to take your group name for announcement during the parade. Parade will end at Soda Springs Park.
Parking will be available in multiple lots around the city, closest will be our free shuttle lot at 10 Old Man's Trail, across from Memorial Park.
An additional free shuttle will run 10 am to 3 pm. The shuttle will pick-up from Manitou Springs Middle/High School and drop off at Memorial Park from 10am-1pm, then it will pick up from Soda Springs Park and drop off at the school from 1pm to 3pm. NOTE: Manitou Ave will be closed at Pawnee at noon. Please do not attempt to park in downtown after noon, or you will be stuck for several hours.

Intro to Animal Tracking Colorado Mountain Man Survival

Monarch Drive, Cripple Creek, CO. This course will teach the basic skills of tracking in application to animal tracking. The skills covered in this course will cover finding sign that goes missed by most people. We will cover track identification, aging the track, measuring the gait of the track pattern and scat identification. We will cover the tools of the trade, methods for different terrain, making field expedient tools, different recording methods, and use of light, both natural and artificial.

3rd Annual Woodland Park Saint Patrick's Day Parade and Pub/Food Crawl-

This will be year 3 for our local St. Patrick's Day Parade. It starts at noon, come rain or shine, at Memorial Park and Henrietta, then turns onto Fairview St, then onto E Midland and runs in front of the Cultural Center and Library.  The parade ends at the bus loop at E Midland and Baldwin this year.  Again, in association with the parade, we will also be having the Pub/Food Crawl.  $5 will get you a stamp card full of great drink and food deals from area vendors, and the Crawl deals are good from the close of the parade (about 1:00 on Saturday, March 14) through closing time on Sunday, March 15. Cards can be purchased (cash only) the week before the event at McGinty's in Divide, or the day of the parade the hour before and the hour after the parade in front of the Cultural Center.  Visit the official parade website for more information:

6th Annual Mule Deer Foundation Woodland Park Chapter Banquet

at 4 PM – 10 PM, Ute Pass Cultural Center, 210 E Midland Ave, Woodland Park, CO. (719) 687-5284 The Woodland Park Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is holding it's annual Banquet, and a night of fun at its 6th Annual fund-raising banquet. Banquet revenue will be used to assist with mule deer habitat improvement projects on public lands in Teller, Park and southern Douglas Counties. The event will include an outstanding meal of pulled pork, chicken and brisket with all the fixins’ catered by the Ute Inn and Grill. A live auction, silent auction and raffles for merchandise will include over ten quality firearms, guided hunts and trips in Colorado and surrounding areas, bows, outdoor gear, western/wildlife art and jewelry and home furnishings will follow the meal. The banquet will take place Saturday, March 28th, 2020 at the Ute Cultural Center in Woodland Park.
